Right now one has to drop-out to Tabular Editor in order to define perspectives.
This editor is useful but not ideal, and of course it's not part of the core PowerBI experience.
Perspectives are very useful to allow users to discover data when reporting against a complex semantic model.
They allow users to reduce congitive load by using a defined subset of the data model relevant to their role or the task at hand.
It would be great to have a perspective editor alongside the model editor that allows one to easily see and edit which data elements are part of a perspective, e.g. with checkboxes alongside the data tree, rather than having to go into each field one at a time.
The existing model editor is also rather slow when setting perspectives on fields, it looks like it's redefining the field each time with the associated reference-checking overhead.
Having an efficient editor - that takes into account changing the perspectives of a field doesn't need integrity checking - would make this much more efficient.
