The idea is to stop any invalid, deleted data sources in a dataflow showing up when configuring the dataflow.

Currently, previous data sources that have been brought in when developing a dataflow are retained in "Data source credentials" after deleting them from the dataflow completely and re-saving. This is a known issue as described here (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/transform-model/dataflows/dataflows-features-limitations#general-limitations).

Microsoft suggest that this is benign but I've found on two occasions that it can prevent refreshing with gateways as the data source can be invalid and no longer present, but must be mapped for the refresh to happen. The only solution I've found is exporting the dataflow to JSON and reimporting it freshly, and this is very inconvenient as all reports have to be repointed. This bug is easily reproducible by adding two data sources to a dataflow (one invalid), saving, then removing the invalid one and saving again.

RE: Dataflows - stop deleted data sources from showing in Gateway config

Although I’ve only found this to be irritating, it seems more like “by omission” than “by design”. It really clutters up the view and makes it quite unusable after a while. Cool feature, but a bit half-baked.
