NewChange X-Axis label category colours based on value (Not in the bars, but the label itself across the bottom of the visual)

Is it possible, or can it become possible to change the colour or values of what you see in the x-axis labels across a bottom of a bar chart, so make a value white / transparent if it equals a certain value, so it can become hidden.
so for example, I have a combo line & stacked column chart, and two fields have been added into the x-axis (Year & Category name) - I would like a gap between each category, but the combo chart doesn't allow for this, so I've created a dummy year with no values to create that gap between each category. the problem is the dummy tear appears in the x-axis labels (with no bar chart above it as it has no data in the year) - this is all working as expected, but if i could make the label for the dummy year to be white text or transparent, then you would not see the year in the label, and the chart would look like it has a natural gap between each category.
Thanks for any help received - I'd like to add a screenshot of what it is I'm trying to achieve.
