Visual Studio SSDT style report deployment of Power BI files to Power BI Report Server

Many of us using Power BI Report Server are doing so because the Power BI Service is not an option, and the typical BI development process requires the use of TFS or some other source control tool to manage our environments. Those who create RDL-based/paginated reports are very comfortable with the Visual Studio, SSDT deployment process. Power BI Report Server is out of sync with that process, as there is currently no way to trigger a new Power BI report creation from within Visual Studio, and no integrated method of deploying Power BI reports or PBI Template to PBI Report Server. Adding Power BI Report deployment support either to SSDT or as an additional extension to Visual Studio 2017+ would help bridge that gap.
