Even though I have a perfectly fine internet connection and my power bi installation is always upto date I spend way too long waiting on Power Query to load, It would be good if the Microsoft team could improve the loading times in Power Query. Perhaps Power Query/Power BI uses way too much memory.
A use case where Power query disappointed: Was in the process of changing all my power bi reports to use Power Query for the complete ETL process, However after a couple of months realised that more complicated datasets, Power Query spent way too long trying to load the data so I am waiting and at the same time day dreaming not so good when you are at work. When I do the same transformations in Oracle sql developer it loads in seconds. I can then use the SQL view or table in Power BI. People are not going to use Power Query if it remains so slow. Most people are getting paid to work not to sit around and look at the 4 yellow dots moving from left to right.
