The more I use Power BI the more I find the built-in visualizations lacking. The problem with custom visualizations published by others is that they tend not to follow the styling of default visualizations so they look out of place on an otherwise coherent dashboard. Fonts or spacing will be off. Things like that.
Visualizations will also their own editing workflows that turn into a "follow-how-the-developer-thinks" exercise which can be time consuming. Microsoft's developed visuals seem to follow so cohesive patterns of how the visuals are put together and customized. Please consider coming up with a pre-canned dial/gauge/tachometer widget, thermometer widget, and whatever widgets you find are relatively popular or one's others make that Microsoft think look like a good idea but somehow don't seem to be popular. They are probably not actually used by many because they don't look right, lack some expected data point choice, or must be configured in some obscured way that the visual developer made up.
