Drill Through - Remove "x" in View only report for Drill Through Filters

Often when I have been showing users how to use Drill through on reports, the user will press the "X" on the drill through filter in the filter panel, and not the Eraser to remove the filters.

When you press the X you actually remove the entire column for Drill Through and therefore it breaks any Drill Through functionality for that page.

This is confusing to the user. This means there can be loss of report functionality during the user experience.

I would like to see the ability to remove the "x" from drill through filters, or for any other filters applied to the Page or Report. The "x" would be removed only in View Mode, and it would be available in Edit mode.
