Since it seems to depend on .net runtime only (at least more or less), why not port the gateway to linux? There are many customers who want to run linux only backends and are scared of having a windows machine running alongside their holy glory mission critical infrastructure...

RE: PowerBI Enterprise Gateway for Linux
It will be so usefull. It so annoying to have to transfert our base to a windows server only for using PBI.
RE: PowerBI Enterprise Gateway for Linux
it would be nice if PBI can connect directly to on prem database without a gateway.
RE: PowerBI Enterprise Gateway for Linux
Essential for future integrations
RE: PowerBI Enterprise Gateway for Linux
that will be so useful
RE: PowerBI Enterprise Gateway for Linux
Currently it is almost impossible to find a company that only has its infrastructure with windows servers, mixed environments have been more common for a long time, it is more now hybrid ecosystems are being imposed with local sources and in the cloud, please this gateway is necessary

Hello Microsoft. With all due respect, not even yourselves use Windows Server on Azure. We need this feature.
You could easily use Library OS for this, just as you did with SQL Server (admittedly, a much sophisticated piece of ssoftware).
Cheers.
RE: PowerBI Enterprise Gateway for Linux
a must
RE: PowerBI Enterprise Gateway for Linux
Person Gateway for update BI in Linux Server, please!!!
RE: PowerBI Enterprise Gateway for Linux
In Latin America there are companies that use Power BI but they have their databases on servers in Linux, but to automate the updates we must install the GATEWEY and in linux the gatewey cannot be installed, you should develop this option to install in linux.
RE: PowerBI Enterprise Gateway for Linux
It shouldn't be too hard to port this to Linux. Give customers more options on how they should architect their datasources
