Need to be able to update dashboards with live data from Excel and other sources. This is already solved for PowerBI sites through automatic refresh using the DMG - the updated Excel file gets written to the PowerBi site, but this technique cannot be used here as there is no connection to Office 365. Either create a connection or create an equivalent mechanism for updating data (OneDrive alone is not enough).

RE: Automatic refresh of dashboards

I am having the same issue as a number of users in this forum. Updating a filter on my reports keeps the pinned dashboard results static and does not reflect the report. Example being I want to update the status on issues on a daily basis. In the designer view / online report section, I can change the filter manually to the current day.. Does this mean I have to "re pin" these to the main dashboard deleting yesterdays "pins"?

RE: Automatic refresh of dashboards

Whenever I change the filter in the page/report level, the charts in the report changes but the pinned chart in the dashboard remains the same. The recommended links about auto refresh is unrelated to this symptom.

RE: Automatic refresh of dashboards

I have the same issue. All reports are updated during refresh, but no dashboard. It's very important for us to have dashboards updated.

I am experience same issue as While the report and source dashboard values remains unchanged.
There seems no way (auto or manual) for pinned dashboards to be updated based on report. The Source is connected to Tabular model.Do you have have solution.
Thanks

Will, there's going to be a data refresh for SharePoint Lists on the next release date or how many do we need to wait for use it?

I am also experience same issue as Andreas. While the report tiles are updated when underlying data is changed; dashboard values remains unchanged.

Pls look into it. This is more necessary for Ipad & Iphone users..

RE: Automatic refresh of dashboards

I have an Excel sheet connected to an oData data source. This is refreshed fine in Power BI. I can click Refresh Now and the it refreshes successfully.

However, the image on the dashboard page still has old data. If I click on the image to open the report, the report is updated.

When are the dashboards updated? Or are the images just snapshots at the time of pinning a report to a dashboard?

RE: Automatic refresh of dashboards

Ok I tried to put an Excel workbook on OneDrive and it updated correctly the dashboard shortly after I refreshed the workbook locally and saved it. Thanks!

RE: Automatic refresh of dashboards

Will, it's not cleat to me what does it mean that you "completed the work for automatic refresh of data in Excel workbooks in OneDrive". Looking at the list of data sources supported, there is nothing that could be stored on OneDrive (such as a text file, an external Excel file, or something like that). Please, can you clarify in which scenario OneDrive is supported now?
Thanks!
