Right now it seems to be impossible to join gateway to existing cluster, this makes it hard to automate high-available installations of PowerBI Gateway.
Use case: have 2+ instances of PowerBI Gateway machines to handle requests from PowerBI.
Currently, it is possible to join PowerBI Gateway to cluster only via configuration UI and this is not working for automation.

Infrastructure as Code for everything ...... except PBI gateway clusters, what a(nother) massive own-goal, Microsoft.

shocked that this is not available and not possible still in 2023, you have raised it in 2021!

Similarly disappointed this isn't available. To the extent that these Powershell cmdlets are intended to offer automation, much of that value is negated by the fact they only allow the automated installation of the very first gateway and cluster combination. Even outside the HA use case of deploying multiple gateways, being able to recover a single gateway is not currently possible. For enterprise's with data sources in Clouds (other than Azure), Gateways deployed within these clouds are essential to ensuring secure access to these data sources for the same reason such gateways are required on premises. Many organisations maintain a policy of only accepting automated deployments to these cloud environments, and the lack of this feature is a deal breaker for this.

I'm shocked the modules don't allow for this to happen. I recently deployed 6 clusters to different environments wrote some pretty cool automation for install and to learn that it's not possible to join some of the instances to the appropriate cluster.
