In Power BI desktop, I can double click the tab name and it selects all of the text. If I start typing after that, it should automatically allow me to type over the text already there. That is the exact same functionality that exists in Excel and has for many years. Right now, I would have to "delete" the text then start typing. More often what happens is I double click the tab name, then start typing and have to double click it again then delete then type it all over again because it does not behave as expected.
