Allow ability to create DAX measures in live PBI dataset connected file

Currently (April 28, 2022), via the latest version (April 16, 2022 ver 2.104.702.0) PBI desktop, I cannot create a custom DAX measure using the REPORTDATE column when live connected to the PBI dataset using PBI desktop (since I do not own the dataset). I do have build permissions for that dataset to build my own customized reports for our team.

The DAX will recognize other custom formulas created by the dataset owner but will not allow me to use any existing columns into new custom calculations to use in my own reports.

It is not always possible to have the original owner of the dataset add the custom measure for various reasons.

Example: I can create this in my own report (works fine there) but I cannot create this into a live connected PBI report.

IsSunday = WEEKDAY('KPI Table'[REPORTDATE],1)

If anyone reading this knows how to bypass this for a live connected PBI dataset via PBI desktop to create their own custom report, please post in comments.
