The ability to change the percentage of data labels was recently added to line charts. Currently it is only available on the line chart and when the x-axis is set to continuous. This is a great feature that I would like to see implemented in all visuals. However, it is highly unusable in it's current implementation due to the requirement that it be continuous. It means that I cannot have nice names for my date axis for example (like viewing your date axis by month name instead of number), nor can I set custom fiscal year date displays. Ideally, data density would be an available control on all visualizations that would allow you to just get call outs for high and low points for example rather than every single point on a line or every single column, etc.
