When multiple visuals are grouped together (which I do to aid in maintenance and support purposes), when the user clicks on a visual (usually in a white space), the grey bounding box appears. This creates confusion to users who may think they've done something wrong, but more specifically it creates an undesired distraction for no value. This doesn't occur for visuals that are not grouped so is specific to grouped items.
