Column order in a table really does not matter, but most designers put their key columns at the top, then other important columns below that, and generally speaking in order of importance. One rarely finds highly important columns at the end of the table definition.
It was with a little disappointment when I see that Power BI sorts columns ALPHABETICALLY in the table list, instead of the order in which they are defined in Power Query. They have re-ordered the columns for me without being asked to do so.
So if you're going to sort columns alphabetically, do it consistently.
When using the Edit Relationship dialog box, the columns are sorted according to how Power Query has them.
Personally, I would prefer an OPTION to either sort columns alphabetically, or to honor how Power Query has them.
But please be consistent across all aspects of the program.
