For many enterprise data sources (such as SAP, Workday) it is not acceptable to use import query because the data needs to be restricted to the viewing user. Such systems often implement security in the application layer, and expose the data via ODATA services. Enabling SSO support for ODATA would enable Power BI to query live enterprise data securely.
