I have been looking into using the newly released card visual (123) and it does not seem possible to apply individual filters to each different metrics.
For example, if I have 3 metrics, I would like to apply:
- Filter A to Metric 1
- Filter B to Metric 2
- Filters A & B to Metric 3
A common use case I have had is using a single metric (like a total) but needing to display different filtered versions of it in cards (i.e. for a sales region, etc). Currently I need to create a new visual for each filtered metric. The other solution is to create a custom metric with the filtered behavior but this can present other unwanted behaviors or results in certain scenarios, and it requires multiple metrics that could be solved with one, making report maintenance more challenging and bloating the model. It seems like adding individual filter context to each included metric on the new card visual would be a game-changer.
