I've used many BI solutions like tableau, and have always benefited tremendously form being able to zoom in an interesting section of a chart. especially when there is lots of data in it. eg a scatter plot with hundreds or thousands of points, and being able to zoom in a particular interesting cluster, and make it fill the whole chart area.Likewise on a time/series chart. especially when there are alot of data points over a long interval

Is there any update on this available as of today ?

This is really important when you are managing hundreds or thousands of bubbles.
Slicers or selections could be insufficient sometimes to get a complete picture or to carry out detailed analysis.

Dears:
I am fully agree with @Warren.Cowan.
i am now testing Qlik Sense Desktop (because my company is also interested in this app), and I see you have the possibility to:
-Zoom in / out in Scatter chart.
- Use a "bow" to carry out complex selections or select a particulary set of data points.
I strongly recommend to add these features into PowerBi Desktop.

Being able to draw a rectangle/circle/free line on a chart to select certain groups of data would definitely be a great option!
