The ability to annotate a visualization, for example a chart or graph, would make both the dashboard and reports experience more robust.

RE: Annotating visualizations!
I'm looking for the Power BI web app to have annotations similar to the mobile app.
RE: Annotating visualizations!
With a tickbox or button to switch annotations on or off. This could be paired with bookmarks instead of buttons but the reset of filters with the change of bookmarks could be problematic.

Would be excellent to see this highly voted for thread combined with this PLANNED status (since 2016) thread: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/6768709-ability-to-add-feedback-or-questions-on-dashboard

And make it data driven where the text can come from a table that would link to the visual.
RE: Annotating visualizations!
Same feature as mobile datazen activity/comment...
RE: Annotating visualizations!
Are there any plans to support annotations in the Power BI service? Users at one of my clients like using the Mobile app when out in the field, but we have some internal users who present back to management. Currently, they have to download a copy of the report into Power BI desktop and create text boxes for annotations. Having annotations in the service (specific to a user), would be a really powerful thing. In this case, we would not need to take multiple copies of a report and clutter up personal or group workspaces.

Let's say there was a big dip in the financials when you lost business from an important customer, you can mark that so everyone can see why the chart changed so much. Then everyone afterwards who visit it will have a reason behind it and won't have to go digging through the details to find out why the dip.
RE: Annotating visualizations!
This should include adding both text and shape objects.
RE: Annotating visualizations!
I have often this ask from my customers; they want to mark/circle/highlight part of a report, comment on it, kind of like "We REALLY need to look into this issue", and pass it around to other stake holders.
Something like the "Web note" of MS Edge coud do nicely, if we could link it back to Power BI.
