Selecting Get Data / SharePoint List creates a data source using SharePoint.Tables () , which gives you only the site information, but not the document contents.
One can use the Advanced Editor and change it to SharePoint.Contents () . Then you can use a Navigate step to access any file (for example CSV data) from Shared Documents and use them as a Binary data sources.
Could you please expose SharePoint.Contents () with meaningful Navigation controls as a supported data source, so we don't have to hack it by changing the code every time we link to a new data file?
Big advantage is, that it allows for single login in case of datasets using multiple tables (data files) from Sharepoint. In contrast you need to login once for each files if you connect them as a OneDrive (for Business) data source. The single login is especially handy while setting up a refresh schedule on the Power BI Service.
