Allow 'Edit Interactions' for Filters pane, or add new collapsable "Canvas" pane

I like the new Filters pane, but I think you really want to think about allowing the same kind of "Edit Interactions" for fields in the Filters pane as you do for any other visual.

Here's why: I would dearly like to ditch slicers from a report in favour of the Filters pane in order to free up precious screen real-estate, but often slicers are set up so that they only filter *some* things and not others, whereas things in the Filters pane are global, as far as I can tell.

I was hoping that the filters pane was going to be a baked-in replacement for the kind of thing Matt Allington et al are doing at https://exceleratorbi.com.au/create-a-power-bi-slicer-panel/ and while I like Matt's approach, it still obscures the report when the slicers panel is visible. So having one that 'floats' like your Filters pane is great, but it truly will be twice as good if you treat the filters on it like visuals in their own right.

Even better, why not extend the awesome concept of the Filters pane so that it's a special part of the canvas where you can park anything you like, and have it collapse when not needed. Now THAT would be incredible.

Really need this right now, +1! Having to use slicers is unfortunately not an option right now - need to limit interaction to the filters pane

We can not move all the slicers to the filterpane because of this missing feature.. We really need to option to edit the interactions for the filters in the filterpane.

We urgently need this. Thank you in advance!

Absolute logical and much needed next step to the new filters pane.

RE: Allow 'Edit Interactions' for Filters pane, or add new collapsable "Canvas" pane

There is a workaround where you can add the filter only for the visuals you want it to effect so it doesn't affect anything else... This is only half the issue though.

I have regularly used page slicers with the sync slicers option to make a consistent filter across many pages, then intentionally edited interactions so that slicer would not effect specific visuals.

Using my prior approach would not allow the filter across the report, it also would require the user to first select the visual they want to filter, and do this for each visual on the page.

1. Users aren't going to easily know to do that
2. Most often the slicer is designed to effect MOST visuals. This would be very taxing to have to set for each visual

PLEASE add this feature
