    I would agree that connecting to Oracle Hyperion EPM systems would be excellent. Not just EssBase but Planning and HFM as well.

    OK... This has been tabled for over a year now without update from MS. Based on my conversation with MS sales and technical consultants, it looks like they are under delusion that Essbase user would have to move over to SSAS. It's very disappointing as MS is not listening customer's real needs. Essbase connector is a must not nice to have otherwise people would use Tableau or other tools if they want to directly report Essbase data

    Yes. we use Essbase heavily and will continue. More than 1000+ customers we work with use Essbase. This will be a very very essential feature. Please include this in June 2016 updated.

    would be great to have essbase connectivity to more efficiently build dashboards without having to do a separate extract using the SmartView add-in!

    Hi,
    Koeos.com has developped a native connexion to Essbase. Their software, called Shuttle, can allow you to get any data from Essbase (leaf or agregated value), compliant with Essbase security etc. from any reporting tool and especially Microsoft BI.
    We have done a prototype with Power BI and it works :)
