Develop an item formatting property which allows to set the visibility of a report item when you want to conditionally hide the item based on a report parameter or some other expression that you specify (also DAX expressions).

You can develop this incrementally starting from visuals, then text boxes, then shapes and buttons....

If you want to go the extra mile, you can also develop a functionality that allows the final user to toggle the visibility of report items.

For more information and since it was an available and really useful capability see "Add an Expand or Collapse Action to an Item (Report Builder and SSRS)".

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/report-builder/hide-an-item-report-builder-and-ssrs?view=sql-server-2017

I double checked in the ideas database and there are many ideas describing the same functionality; this is the reason why I do believe this is really required and will try to collect all the previous votes under this item.

RE: Visibilty (Hide an Item)

This is essential for our work in Power BI. It is such a pain in the neck to set everything to transparent...and it doesn't work for visuals with no conditional color possibilities.

They have this same functionality in Power Apps. I see no reason why it can't be over in another program in the Power Platform.

RE: Visibilty (Hide an Item)

Enable to show or hide an object (chart, table, map, text box, filter, image, shape etc.) based on a condition. If a condition evaluates to TRUE than show the object, else hide it. +1

RE: Visibilty (Hide an Item)

we use shapes like line or rectangles to make our report better. but when there is no data for certain components, we tend to hide the same but with current settings for shapes we don't see any options to hide (or conditional hide)

RE: Visibilty (Hide an Item)

Hi,

It could be possible to hide a graphic from a dashboard if we select one value/text.

RE: Visibilty (Hide an Item)

It would be nice to be able to have a visible property on images, text boxes, single cards or shapes which occurs when a certain condition is met.

ie I want to have a Text box display saying "Failed" or have an image of a red x be visible if the dataset has a value in the success column of 0.

Our support team are looking at high level dashboards of issues in processing systems.

RE: Visibilty (Hide an Item)

It would be great to have an option to hide/show the object base on a filed value
ej.
If a card value is "High Level" and Image related to that would be visible
if card value is "Low Level" another different image would be visible

RE: Visibilty (Hide an Item)

e.g. to hide an empty\blank chart until any value shows up. Just to avoid nasty blank objects...Selection >>> Layer order >>> Hide + conditional based on a measure or column ?
