Ability to select multiple items in a chart say multiple bars, pie's etc and automatically have filters applied to all the existing reports. this helps to highlight anomalies and see all the surrounding reports changes as we do it and showcase risks/opportunities

As of the February update, we now support cross-highlighting across multiple visuals! You can read the details in my blog post: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-february-2018-feature-summary/#crosshighlight

RE: Ability to select multiple items in a report for cross-highlighting

Absolutely agree. This is the biggest shortfall I encountered when comparing PowerBI to Sisense.

As a work around, I have to provide slicers for the data behind each visual which not only makes for a cumbersome/cluttered report but also, when the slicers are used, results in the removal of bars from the bar chart, slices from the pie graph, etc. instead of "greying" them out as occurs when a visual is interactively filtered by clicking on a bar or slice in the visual itself. In other words, using slicers as a work-around throws away the context of overall data behind the visual.

Needed. "Use chart as slicer" would resolve this. Requirement is for the selection in chart A to globally filter the rest of the report, and not be reset to all when a selection in chart B is made.

You could try out the following dax code:

CALCULATE(SUM([Sales]);ALL([Date]))

This would override any date filter. You can use the same for any other filter such as product category, subsidiary, etc.

We desperately need the ability to apply concurrent filters from multiple charts. Qlik does this, why can’t Power BI. This topic is also related to global filtering.

There are other registered ideas that are almost the same as this one. This uncontrolled idea submitting option is not efficient. I think this is a really important feature but because of the inefficient registration does not get the votes it deserves (now its fragmented).

This is definitely an important feature to data visualization. It is the only reason why I haven't switched from Tableau to Power BI. Please add this feature in the near future.

I need this function, otherwise I will have to use Tableau ... it's a shame because the power has potential.

I'm still surprised there's been no movement on this. This would allow a lot of quick analysis. Even if it's as simple as holding down ctrl when you select (although not sure how to deal with mobile/ ipad)
