In late 2016, Power BI improved our export data options to allow exporting up to 150,000 rows to Excel from a visual on a Power BI dashboard for Pro users. If you require higher limits, please vote on this idea. If you have more specific requirements, please leave them in the comments.

RE: Increase Export Data Limits

Power BI came a long way to improve a lot of features in 2017. It would be great to see if the export limit is increased or let the user know that the data has more than 150k rows when it is being exported as a short term solution.

RE: Increase Export Data Limits

This is a great tool to use with MS Access, but the limitation to of exporting the full data put it way - way - behind other programs. If Access can pull in over 10 million lines, and Power BI can do the same, then it needs to be able to export this back out at the same level. This needs to be addressed very soon.

RE: Increase Export Data Limits

Increase to at least 1,000,000. Also need to be able to export from the desktop.

RE: Increase Export Data Limits

Yes, it should increase the limit to export data to about a million rows.

RE: Increase Export Data Limits

The visual dashboard receiver sometimes need to answer their own questions and at times this can only be done by reviewing the raw data using the export to excel function to answer those questions at real-time. Asking the report user to go the developer is moving away from being a self service platform. Microsoft are you providing a service based on your vision or not.

RE: Increase Export Data Limits

On Power BI Desktop we can export only 15.000 lines. On Power BI Web we can export 150.000 lines. Why such a difference ! A pain to publish and switch each time to export data (and I don't want to work on Power BI Web).

RE: Increase Export Data Limits

The excel number of rows would be a great limit so we can export more than 500K rows

RE: Increase Export Data Limits

Our business users intend to migrate the excel based reports to Power BI.
The export limits must be comparable and align with Excel. The 30K export limitation is a potential showstopper since it limits users ability to dig into "related" details of the summarized data.
This basic obstacle needs to be addressed.

RE: Increase Export Data Limits

I agree, I can only export 15,000 records. And there's a bug that gives you the "data exceeds the limit" error message even if ur way under the 15k limit. But at least, it dumps out upto 15k records, so you just have to ignore the error message.
