Often we need to expand on an idea from one report further and copy and paste visuals/pages from one PBIX to another. This would be a huge productivity and quality benefit.

We are excited to announce that this shipped in our November update of PBI Desktop: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-november-2018-feature-summary/#copyPaste For those asking, it will be included in the next version of Power BI Desktop for Report Server as well.

RE: Allow copy and paste between different PBIX's
For me, being able to make API calls using a user defined query would be awesome. I'm currently copying each API function into OneNote. When needed, I'm copying the text of the custom query into a blank query.
I suppose making a template PBIX with all custom queries would work just as well.
RE: Allow copy and paste between different PBIX's
This would be huge. I'm constantly creating the same time slicer layouts and filter layouts and visuals in new files.
RE: Allow copy and paste between different PBIX's
hope to get a committed date for this update soon.
we are already in 2nd half of 2018 and basic function like "copy n paste" charts across PBIX/PBIT still not available.
This is making Power BI look really bad.
