It would be great if we could change columns labels/names in the standard visuals (Table & Matrixes mainly). In our company we have a data warehouse build to support the PowerBI tabular model with the data. The field names in the data model are not the most intuitive to our PowerBI End User. It could be great if we could change the way the field labels are shown in our tables to be more intuitive and meaningful without needing to change the field names in the data model.

With today's release, you can now rename any field within a chart or table! Learn more in our blog post: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/blog/power-bi-desktop-july-feature-summary-2/#rename

Is this going out on the next version?
RE: Change column labels/names in the visual
Well, but there is easy workaround for this. Just hide Column names and put those names as one Title. For example Title=". Price Quantity".

There is a huge need for this

Excellent idea
RE: Change column labels/names in the visual
Would be very useful for my reports containing large tables!

I would like to see an "Alias" tagged to the field or measure as a piece of Metadata, with the option to use the Alias as the field used in any type of visualization. In that way, you could retain the original field name, but substitute the alias for any reporting.

I signed up just to make this suggestion, and great to see others on board with this as well. We have the same problem. The data model names aren't always the most intuitive for our end users.
