RE: field of "duration" type
What is the point of having the duration type in power query when the data view doesn't support it!!!!!!
We need duration for our graphs, so please make it available
RE: field of "duration" type

RE: field of "duration" type
I need to include a "duration" field in the chart to evaluate the duration of an event over time. I need it for "yesterday". Pls.
RE: field of "duration" type
C'mon Microsoft. How about an update on this as a Christmas present? It is is pretty fundamental reporting requirement.
RE: field of "duration" type
I agree with all regarding this field. I currently have a custom column showing duration between CreatedDate and ApprovedDate (both are datetime columns), but now would like to aggregate the duration column to show average duration and cannot.

need Duration calculation on Power BI
RE: field of "duration" type
In my case, I needed to report time spent on site, so just formatting as text worked to give a visual representation of session duration. This will not work for operations though.
RE: field of "duration" type
Please update Power BI to include Duration as a data type in the Date/Time category. I can use Power Query to convert individual start and stop times to calculate a duration, but the column can't be manipulated in Power BI to allow calculations such as the total duration from several instances so that it appears in a way that is easy to understand. Right now I've got a report that says things like "total training time = 46209 minutes" and it just isn't intuitive for my readers.
