The primary axis are outdated and require significant improvement when compared to Excel. This makes it difficult for report creators and often leads to problems when trying to manage and style them effectively. By offering more format settings, greater control over displayed data can be provided, especially if axis ticks, new gridlines, and separators are also included.

RE: Epic idea: Advanced primary axis
Why isn't this an option? It's an option in Excel, why not in Power BI? (I imagine it has to do with cross filtering, but still at least give us the option.)
RE: Epic idea: Advanced primary axis
The lack of the this critical feature makes Power BI visualizations far inferior to competing software. Current state is unacceptable to the managers using these reports.
RE: Epic idea: Advanced primary axis
please add this functionality! very much needed
RE: Epic idea: Advanced primary axis
So many years and it is still not there ;(
RE: Epic idea: Advanced primary axis
This is very basic functionality and its available in Excel .I request you add .
RE: Epic idea: Advanced primary axis
This is such a basic requirement that I cannot believe that A) it hasn't already been implemented, and B) there aren't more upvotes. I have a KPI report where the required interval in 10's, from 0% to 70%, and yet I'm stuck with having to inform the user that you can't do it in Power BI, to which they reply "Really?! I do it in Excel. No thanks, I'll stick with Excel..."
RE: Epic idea: Advanced primary axis
Having ability to set custom intervals is crucial for most of the visuals. Please add this functionality.
RE: Epic idea: Advanced primary axis
I strongly agree with this Idea. The ability to set x-axis intervals is crucial for effective chart development. I am a new user and am very surprised that this feature does not already exist.
RE: Epic idea: Advanced primary axis
this is required and more helpful

@PowerBI #addthisASAP :)
Add a simple variable to set an interval on the x-axis, be it for a specific need or just to de-clutter the visual.
In my case x-axis is a reporting week 'Thurs to Weds', which needs a specific from/to range displayed (like '1 Apr - 7 Apr', rather than a 'week commencing' date that would be too easy). Hence not formatted as a date field but as a text field.
There's a lot of weeks in a year ... so way too much x-axis text and it's just horrible to look at. A 1 in 4 interval would vastly improve the visual for the user and improve engagement, rather than being distracted by the noise under the graph.
