The number formatting should be in accordance with excel. The options available in excel for number formatting is quite brilliant.
I hope Power BI can somehow integrate custom number formatting in the desktop version.

Totally agree that this is needed. Can't believe that dd-mm-yyyy is not included in the pre-set formats...

Would be important to have this. E. g. to report on monthly data in a table or matrix. The available Month/Year format heavily inflates the column width, so not usable... Something like "MM/yy" or "MMM/yy" would be needed...

The ability to enter and use Custom Date Formats within BI
(E.g. mmm-yy) rather than having to use the pre-set formats.

I want to use 4 digits, and MAN, OKU for money number display unit.

10000 YEN = 1 MAN YEN
100000000 YEN = 1 OKU YEN.

10000 Bytes = 10 K Bytes.
100000000 Bytes = 100 M Bytes.

I want to use special Display Unit of the number cultures.

In Japan,
Money number's display unit is 4 digits unit, and MAN, OKU, TYO.
and Storage's display unit is equal to US, 3 digits and K,M,G.
