This is a continuation of "Allow runtime parameters in Power View and/or Power Query". Request this capability in Power BI Online so users can go to a dashboard and easily be able to search for a list of values. Currently the user would need to use a slicer and individual select each value. An example would be if I had list of part numbers to search in the dashboard. Currently I would need to scroll up and down in a slicer and individually select each one. In SSRS I can create a parameter dropdown and easily type in and even copy and paste values in to search for.

RE: Power BI Online Query Parameters
As much as I'd like to consider a PowerBI solution, the lack of runtime params is a deal breaker. Any analytic tool set should contain this basic functionality.
If I've missed something, please educate us.
RE: Power BI Online Query Parameters
In my view, if Power BI allow for slicers to go across pages of a report, I could create the first page of my report to be a "parameters" page, where users would select the firsts that would go across the entire report-viewing session: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/9861216-allows-slicers-to-apply-to-all-pages-of-a-report
For instance the first page of the report could have slicers for users to select the period (year, month, etc) customers, country/region, etc. Then since the slicers would go across the entire report, the other pages would show the data based on those "parameter slicers".
RE: Power BI Online Query Parameters
Yes, this is the #1 feature currently limiting the use of Power View for my clients. Effectively, it's still a summary tool only until we get runtime parameters. So we're still using RS
RE: Power BI Online Query Parameters
Agreed!
While the addition of parameters in queries is quite nice, it has no value for those of us using DirectQuery to on-prem datasources such as SSAS servers.
What my users want to see is parameters for opening reports based on SSAS tabular models.
