Create a filter that allows me to say 'Show the top N categories by value', e.g. 'Top 5 countries by sales'

I'm very pleased to say we've just released the ability to add TopN filters to your visuals in our October update. RE: Top N Filters
PLEASE PROVIDE TOP N VALUES FOR EACH PRODUCT BY GROPUING
RE: Top N Filters
Request you to add visual level filters for card to enable top n filtering.
RE: Top N Filters
As I said in other ideas. This could be achived with a dynamic table layer so you could write a dax query with two columns one with the corresponding number 1, 2 ... 5, and other labels and a second column with values. And then drag thouse columns to any visual you want.
Being a dynamically calculated table your labels should respond to any filters you apply to that visual. This would enable any kind of dynamic grouping/binning you can define via a dax query.
RE: Top N Filters
I fully agree with Roland. Surprising this does not have more votes yet.
RE: Top N Filters
For example - this is to show top 5 countries by revenue on a visualization (i.e Bar Chart) and having a sixth bar showing other countries (not in top 5) to be grouped as "Others" while responding dynamically to filters.
RE: Top N Filters
Dynamic Top N using Direct Query with BW
RE: Top N Filters
I Agree. This would be allow also to improve performance: in tables, you could show the top 100 lines for example (using a top N filter on a measure) and keep the totals equal to the actual total, not just the top 100
RE: Top N Filters
Currently, if I want to filter my entire report by the Top N items, I have to apply the Top N filter to each and every Visualization that I create in the report. I would like to be able to add a Top N filter to the Page or Report Level, then the affected Page or Report would only contain data from the items that were selected with the Top N filter.
RE: Top N Filters
It would be very helpful if Top N could also display an "Other" category so we could have an idea of the proportion of the data Top N represents and reconcile with the total shown on another visual.
RE: Top N Filters
Adding a filter option that can, 'Show Items in Top N % of Value', e.g. 'Show Suppliers in Top 80% of Spend'.
This feature is currently available in Excel & adds immense versatility when analyzing large data-sets.
