As has been partly implemented with Filters, it would be very useful to have slicers that could apply to all pages of a report. This would allow users to interact more easily.

The most exciting news so far this year! In the February release of Power BI Desktop we've shipped the ability to synchronize slicers on different pages in your report! You can read more about how the feature works here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-february-2018-feature-summary/#syncSlicers Thanks again for everyone's feedback and votes on this feature. We do listen to you so keep voting and let us know what other things you need us to prioritize.

RE: Allows Slicers to apply to all Pages of a Report
From a design perspective, I would suggest a way to group pages together. Basically a way to say "These pages all share the same filter criteria."
Right click page tab -> "Add to shared filter group", pops up dialog, let's you select one and only one group (or add a new named group).
Maybe color the page tabs the same color for each group, or put in parenthesis "Page Name (Group Name)" in the tab(or probably both). I.e. if you group pages 1 2 and 4 together, under group name "for City/Month" then you'd see tabs:
Sales (for City/Month) | Commissions | Turnover Rates (for City/Month) | Warehouse Stock (for City/Month)
So in this example I probably have a City and a Month slicer on the first page. So I've given my group an informative name so the user is aware they share the same filter.
Here the second tab isn't assigned to a group, so it doesn't show the group name.
When you create a Group name you can pick a color. So a group is just a name and a color, and all the tabs in that group are effected by all slicers across the pages. Probably include a checkbox for "Hide group name" if someone doesn't feel like they can give it an informative name.
Also, please include support for SSAS Dimensional models when you implement this.
RE: Allows Slicers to apply to all Pages of a Report
Ideally you would be able to select which pages are effected like a sliver in Excel. Just having it apply to all pages is a bit limiting.
RE: Allows Slicers to apply to all Pages of a Report
I'd like to echo that this would be really useful. I've got nearly 50 academic programs and the more pages I add, the more I really want a slicer that impacts all pages in a report.
RE: Allows Slicers to apply to all Pages of a Report
I do suspect it's hard to figure out a simple way to implement. That said, this is a really useful feature idea. Like many here, I have a a bunch of tabs on many reports which are different data angles/takes on the same selections and having multi-page slicers or however you end up thinking about it--will be extremely useful.

The team is looking at the best way to implement this; but to set expectations haven't started development yet.
RE: Allows Slicers to apply to all Pages of a Report
It's impossible to work without such a functionality. Most reports will have more than one page. It’s much too complicated for the users to make the Same selections on each page, again and again.
RE: Allows Slicers to apply to all Pages of a Report
This will be much appreciated thx!!
RE: Allows Slicers to apply to all Pages of a Report
It is complicated to slice same criteria for multiple pages
RE: Allows Slicers to apply to all Pages of a Report
Test users become annoyed at having to repetitively filter, not to mention the danger of them forgetting to filter and misinterpreting the information. Please make this a priority.
RE: Allows Slicers to apply to all Pages of a Report
My use of this would be that our company has 400+ locations. The reporting often includes the location with the data. If the user only had to specify one time what location s/he is wanting to review and that filter apply to the data they want to see that would be helpful. But it would be best if user could save their filters/slicers so they always default to the 1-5 locations they view the most. With so many users RLS doesn't work because they still have multiple locations and we don't allow them to save their reports just to save their filter/slicer. This is a final consideration if we will implement/purchase PowerBI or use something that would have this feature.
