It'd be REALLY nice to have heat maps capabilities in the map visualization of Power View, like those in Power Maps.

This is an OFTEN requested feature from our large enterprise customers

We are very excited to announce that we have shipped a heatmap layer as part of our built-in Bing map visual. You can read the details on our blog: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-march-2019-feature-summary/#heatMap

Heat maps would be very ideal for me especially when I do my analysis to understand where our clients are spending more time on the Power BI dashboard and what they are clicking most.

ESRI is a nice option but a big gap are those heat maps are not allowed to be Published to Web. T

In addition, the visual is pretty slow to load.

And, ESRI heat map does not work on aggregations....e.g. Sum(Revenue).

RE: Heat maps in Power View

ESRI "Heat Maps" are misleading because they only plot the heat signature based on the NUMBER OF POINTS in a given area, NOT an AGGREGATE of any field! In fact, I found one other major vendor of custom visuals claiming to have 'heat map' capability but in fact also only plotted the COUNT of points.

For it to be a TRUE heat map, you need a way to AGGRAGATE a value.

For example, if I have 300 people in near location A and each bought 1 widget, and I had 100 people in location B that bought 10 widgets each, an ESRI Heat Map would show that there was higher activity around location A.

Not sure what this is. Heatmaps is just conditional formatting of a table. We can do this already in PBI.

Shouldn't this be marked as completed? ARCGIS is one option, and Mapbox is about to provide an alternative in the store (it's already on Github).

We definitely need more clarification onexactly what data ESRI collect. From a UK perspective, using the ArcGIS maps add-on to process any personal data would appear to be in breach of the Data Protection Act.

I am currently integrating this functionality to a Google Maps Visual.

Have anyone's concerns been address about data security for this item? The concerns below seem valid and prohibit me from using some feature or the tools at all as well.

I am also very concerned about data security. My implementation cannot have data the data touching a third party (beyond Microsoft). It's not clear in ESRI privicy policy if they are collecting "personal" information (name/contact info) which is fine, or actually collecting data being used for visualizations.
