ALL user activities in Power BI should be logged for auditing purposes, including datasets accessed, reports/dashboards accessed, and especially data exports performed. The audit data should be accessible as a dataset to build reports against as well as easily exportable / downloadable.

We released a US only preview for auditing Power BI. Read more about it here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-admin-auditing/

RE: Better Auditing of User Activity (Datasets, Reports, Dashboards, Exports)
Power BI team... This helps promote your product in our organizations. We need to know who ran which dashboard/report and when. With this we can show the value of Power BI and the usage it is getting. What you currently have is insufficient and as @venessa van gelder mentioned we have to beg cranky IT people for their help and to explain what is even available! This could even be a pre-designed dashboard you could share with us that would allow us to see usage by user, dashboard/report, and date. Thank you for your consideration!

This feature looks really good, is there any idea on when this will be available in Europe?
RE: Better Auditing of User Activity (Datasets, Reports, Dashboards, Exports)
When will this feature be available to the rest of the world...?

Any progress? Very usable feature!

once again for the BI folk this is not really accessible unless through cranky IT admin? please can we get the BI admin function sorted out
RE: Better Auditing of User Activity (Datasets, Reports, Dashboards, Exports)
Whilst the functionality in this is improving, it is only covering the object creation and deletion. Far more important, is which users are running which reports, how frequently and how long is the report taking to load. It is not possible to track usage for audit or adoption management purposes without knowing which reports are being run by whom and what their experience is like. Consider the business case for expanding the availability of PowerBI (Pro) to more users in an organisation. Without knowing these key statistics, it is not possible to prove they system is even being used. Please prioritise report usage auditing. Thanks!!

We also need this available to PowerBI Admin users not only O365 Global Admin's or at least give the Global Admin's the ability to share the Dashboard with a PowerBI Admin user to appear in their workspace.

I agree. It seems crazy that we can provide access to company data without being able to monitor the activity this generates.

'+1 for user consumption data
RE: Better Auditing of User Activity (Datasets, Reports, Dashboards, Exports)
As others have posted, a critical missing need in PBI Service is having access to the user consumption data. Priority order for me would be 1) Reports, 2) Dashboards, 3) Datasets, 4) Content Packs. Our organization is issuing E5 license to users who need PBI Pro content access. Today we know who has the licenses, but no ability to know if they are actually using them and to know if we should revoke them.
