Hi, I have used Powerview extensively. Pivot table connected to a Tabular Model is today the best available tool for pivoting. Nothing to beat it. howevere powerview and pivot tables are not integrated to each other, i.e. they do not share the same parameters. The filters I have selected in Powerview shold also filter (optionally) a pivot table also.

Over the last few months, we've made a lot of progress on a new matrix visual that supports cross-highlighting, stepped layouts and drill. Learn more about the new matrix preview here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-desktop-matrix-visual/

RE: Integrate Powerbi with Pivot tables
Where can we see responses from Microsoft personnel? It seems this question keeps coming up, but I don't see a response.
RE: Integrate Powerbi with Pivot tables
When is collapsible pivot table is going to be available?
RE: Integrate Powerbi with Pivot tables
The ability for end users to be able to "hotswap" items in a tables rows/columns would make Pwoer BI a must have product. At the moment, its great at showing predefined stories, but not allowing end users to perform data discovery
RE: Integrate Powerbi with Pivot tables
That is very critical for me as well. I cannot use powerBI mainly because missing the pivot table option. Users need to slice and dice or drill down to the data using pivot table.
RE: Integrate Powerbi with Pivot tables
A core piece of functionality our customers would like to see in PowerBI is essentially the pivot tables, drag and drop functionality that you get in Excel (connected to a multidimensional OLAP cube). We have been using it in Excel services delivered through SharePoint and it works great. We have plans to move fully over to PowerBI for our customers but this missing piece is somewhat of a stumbling block. Are there any plans to include this functionality at present or in the future?
RE: Integrate Powerbi with Pivot tables
This is needed, pivot tables are one of the best data exploration tools we have. We need to be able to pivot our data, and then filter our reports in the context of a selection. This is a nearly required enhancement for effective insight - extraction from Power BI visualizations.
RE: Integrate Powerbi with Pivot tables
'@Admin: Microsoft has no front-end PivotTable to OLAP browser based solution. Logically it seems that belong to PowerBI or Excel on-line. Are you saying you don't understand the usefulness of pivot tables and OLAP? It seems you are asking the community here to define that for you.
RE: Integrate Powerbi with Pivot tables
Please add pivot table feature. We need it badly for for business analysis with large data files
RE: Integrate Powerbi with Pivot tables
Yes we need pivot table like functionality in Power Bi, otherwise we have no hope of moving users to this tool, and I will continue using tableau for my clients
RE: Integrate Powerbi with Pivot tables
I would like to use PowerBI as my one stop shop to deliver reports to my company. Excel with live connection to SSAS on prem via the Enterprise Gateway would be ideal. This was in addition to the PowerBI dashboards and reports, we can have Excel reports as well. This is a bit bottleneck for us right now and is keeping us away from being able to use PowerBI as our full solution for reporting.
