RE: SharePoint/Office 365 List Data Source

Ideally would be great if it was a live connection (instead of a daily refresh or hourly for Pro). This is keeping us from using the product.

RE: SharePoint/Office 365 List Data Source

When will PowerBi be able to set color conditions on Alpha values.

Case in Point... I needed to create a simple Project Health dashboard list showing (Project, Overall Status, Schedule Status, Resourcing Status, Scope Status, and Cost Status) The statuses are (Red, Yelloe, & Green).

The only conditions are based on low/high numeric value range or specific color to a number. The values in my data fields are alpha showing Red, Yellow, & Green.

Thanks,
Ron

RE: SharePoint/Office 365 List Data Source

I am connected to a SharePoint List from PowerBI. I then updated the list to rename a column from "Title" to " Project" and also added two new columns.

I then removed the existing SP List connection and reconnected to recognize the new changes. Once completed, I am not seeing the changes that I made to the SP list.

Just to see if PowerBi was caching anything on my machine, I installed PowerBI on another machine and perform the connection process again to the same SP list and I got the same results.

It seems that the problem may lean towards Sharepoint, but I welcome all feedback to help me get past this most frustrating issue.

Thanks,
Ron

RE: SharePoint/Office 365 List Data Source

Will Power BI ever be able to read the values in Managed metadata fields (populated by Term Store)?

RE: SharePoint/Office 365 List Data Source

There is a bug with retrieving null values as per
http://community.powerbi.com/t5/Integrations-with-Files-and/Connecting-to-a-SharePoint-List-Office-365-error/td-p/8893/page/2

The workaround (ApiVersion=14) doesn't work for me and gives an error about another column. This was working fine, now some fields are missing data and my dashboards are now all blank.
MS please fix

RE: SharePoint/Office 365 List Data Source

Every time I try to load a SharePoint List, I get the error message, "The name 'ID' is already used for a column on table [tablename]. Choose a different name." The ID field is created by SharePoint, and I have no control. This requires me to go through a VERY LONG process to remove the ID field in the Query builder. Please advise.

RE: SharePoint/Office 365 List Data Source

When I try to connect to a SharePoint list with a specific view, I receive the following error: "OData: The given URL neither points to an OData service or a feed".

If I try to connect to just the SharePoint Site , then select the SharePoint list via the Navigation step, I receive the following error: "SharePoint: Request failed (404): The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. (Cannot find resource for the request $metadata.)"
