Pro users have the ability to schedule refresh for daily (intra day) and weekly. For some datasets, monthly is the right cadence. Can we have a scheduled refresh option that is Monthly (and lets us choose which day of the month the refresh is to occur)?

Capturing month end data from a number of external sources outside our direct control is absolutely essential for our C-Suite

I don't think anyone from Microsoft is looking at these comments! And also, who on the earth from Microsoft has approved the idea of not including "MONTHLY REFRESH" option?

How do we get this more attention?

Power Automate is fine in a pinch but leads to confused/concerned users because in the workspace it appears that the dataset isn't scheduled to refresh. A monthly refresh schedule is a basic, basic feature that should have shipped with Power BI years ago.

BEFORE YOU VOTE: Have you tried scheduling the monthly refresh using Power Automate? I've been using Power Automate for all of my unconventional refresh scheduling needs for over a year with no problems. You should give it a try!

Agree, this is needed. For now, as an alternative, you can schedule this in Power Automate, the recurrence trigger provides all the flexibility that you need.

Completely agree with prior requests. Monthly cadence is extremely useful.

Needs to happen. Why does microsoft concentrate of the flashy stuff no one uses and neglect the basics?

This is a really simple idea and needs implementation. We provide numerous reports where the data is ingested weekly or monthly at sets days in the week or month and this would be a great way to better manage the refresh process for those dashboards rather than run a daily refresh 29 times on a static data set for no real reason.

Allow user to choose:- "first day of the month",- "last day of the month" or- "enter the desired day of the month for the update to occur (1,2,...31)". With this procedure, it will be possible to update accurately once a month and will avoid unnecessary processing of the database.
