The most common request from my users is for Power BI to save the filters and settings that a user applies on a report. Currently they need to re-apply everytime they open it.

Hey everyone, the wait is finally over. For those who follow our blog closely, we shipped this feature in the service earlier this month: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/announcing-persistent-filters-in-the-service/ Thanks again for all the support!

RE: Save user filters on reports
When you click on a visual within a report, all the other visuals get updated. But then if you click on a different visual, the selection of the initial visual is lost. It would really help the data analysis if we could "pin" the selection of a visual, so we could click on other visuals without loosing the initial selection.
Example: Let's say I have 2 bar charts, one on country and one on staff, and a table showing all sales. If I click on "UK", I will see all sales in UK for all staff. But there is no way to see all sales in UK for a particular staff......unless I use slicers but it is much better to use the visuals rather than slicers (as it provides additional information)
RE: Save user filters on reports
I have approx. 60 users, each with different responsibilities/markets but they are in need of the same report. In order for them to filter out data only relevant from the other 49 users they basically need specific filters every time they view the report. This is essential for us.
RE: Save user filters on reports
It is really vital for large organizations that this functionality is added quickly. I see no other way for the user to filter a report to their organization/unit/location/... other than by doing it every time they open the report or by creating duplicate copies of a shared content pack. However, if users start duplicating shared content packs, all development and fixes done to the reports by report administrators will never reach the users which is even worse.
RE: Save user filters on reports
We are in similar situation where we have large number of users. more than 3000 power bi users but it is really problem to manage filter as they have to select that every time. This feature is must so that it saves filters and selection based on user login and they don't need to select again.
RE: Save user filters on reports
We have the same scenario as @Andrea below. 1300 stores, don't want users to have to filter out their store / district / region every time they comeback to the report.
RE: Save user filters on reports
This would be great for our organization.
RE: Save user filters on reports
Saving filters/slicer values are a must. My use of this would be that our company has 400+ locations. The reporting needs to show for their location(s) and it isn't always one location for one user or we could use the RLS. We want the user to set what location s/he is wanting to review and that filter apply to the data or report they want to see. Then perhaps user will change to another location or a couple of locations and so on. Because there are many users we don't want users to edit reports and have to save them just to store their slicer value. This is a final consideration if we will implement/purchase PowerBI or use something that would have this feature.
RE: Save user filters on reports
I have users that are neither technical nor have the time or desire to be technical. And with over 200 of them I cannot create canned reports for each one. If we cannot take a standard report with pre-established slicers and enable users to simply bookmark their views based on these slicers they select then PBI is not ready to address this need
RE: Save user filters on reports
Hi @Sharath,
I understand this as a kind of "bookmark"-feature.
RE: Save user filters on reports
We need a way to make default filters by User (shared). Need an option to that filter be fixed, and hidden to the user, for user that can seen only a fraction of the data.
