The most common request from my users is for Power BI to save the filters and settings that a user applies on a report. Currently they need to re-apply everytime they open it.

Hey everyone, the wait is finally over. For those who follow our blog closely, we shipped this feature in the service earlier this month: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/announcing-persistent-filters-in-the-service/ Thanks again for all the support!

RE: Save user filters on reports
We have users who are assigned to present on different selections and they too have to select the filters for those each time if it's their region. They should be able to set their regional reports up and have them ready to present to the GMs/owners at any time.
RE: Save user filters on reports
I publish dashboards to managers through out the organization with information on headcount and attrition. It would be great if they could filter that reports to their needs, save it and then open that whenever they wanted. Even if they saved it under a different name, so they could view the org one, and then choose their filtered view, that would be ideal.
RE: Save user filters on reports
Multi-visual filters that work across the report would be a very nice to have. As the relationships are present in the right set of data, this should be possible. It's the only benefit I can think of Qlik Sense versus Power BI.
RE: Save user filters on reports
I think it's worth mentioning that while it's nice that Power BI remembers my last selections, this request is about saving several selections. For example, I want to bookmark several selections as "USA sales last month" and other selections as "Canada sales last year".
This is a very basic feature in most other BI products.
RE: Save user filters on reports
The filter selection criteria needs to be saved per user so that they can go back to a report or dashboard and see refreshed data filtered the way they left it. Trying to compare between dashboards or reports and having the filters criteria dropped when switching between them makes the process take a lot longer than it needs to.
RE: Save user filters on reports
We really need this - our users need to be able to go straight to the area of the business in which they are responsible for without having to re-apply the filters each time. A very basic requirement!
RE: Save user filters on reports
It's definitely an issue for us. We've implemented a dashboard in a retail environment that a large number of people use to look at their specific areas. A user within a certain area wants to be able to ensure that the dashboard filters for their preferred filters when they visit.
We don't want to have to implement row-level security to achieve this as there are genuine use-cases where they will need to look at other areas in conjunction with their preferred area.
What they don't want to have to do is set the filters every time they access the dashboard on each of the 8 pages just so that they can see the data they want.
RE: Save user filters on reports
I would like to bookmark sets of filter combinations that I can reuse, say during a presentation in a staff meeting. This would help tell a story by re-applying each bookmark in a sequence to illustrate a particular point.
RE: Save user filters on reports
You need to be able to save the last filter set on a visual and page for the user so that next time they go in it is still set to the last filter applied. This functionality needs to be in the embedded solution as well...in fact is more of an issue for our organization's SaaS solution which is also hosted in the Azure environment. We get daily complaints on this functionality not existing.

I'm getting it from my users all the time. They need the ability to save their filters. It's a basic feature in all other BI products.
