A lot of SAP customers would benefit from a using PowerBI. A direct connection to SAP ECC would be a powerful addition to the list of connectors. Similar to SFDC a set of models around Order to Cash, Spend Analytics would be a great set of dashboards.

RE: SAP ECC

Any update on this idea. Similar to a lot of comments i have read, especially now with Fabric being involved, connection between Fabric and SAP ECC is must. Fetching data from SAP ECC to Fabric, would save a lot of time, compared to pushing data from ECC to SAP BW and then connecting fabric to SAP BW. Apparently copying data from SAP ECC to Lakes is possible in Data Factories, so why it is not possible in Fabric? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/data-factory/connector-sap-ecc?tabs=data-factory

RE: SAP ECC

Hello Folks, thanks for putting this request. Yes, access to SAP data in PowerBI / Power Platform (or even MS Excel) has been one of the much needed business asks. We are happy to announce that our PowerPlatform connector is certified by Microsoft (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/usb4sap/) as well as certified by SAP. After testing with pilot customers, we have also initiated process specific to PowerBI certification and that should be coming officially soon. Basically, this provisions any data object in SAP (tables/ views, CDS as well as reports, queries in SQVI, Idocs, ALV, Standard etc) on applications like PowerBI/ XLS, cloud storage (Azure, AWS , GCP) or DB's.Meanwhile, if anyone needs information or use for their trial, please feel free to reach out for details at support@ecoservity.comLooking forward to exciting uses cases & feedback.Anupam

RE: SAP ECC

Sad to see Microsoft still doesn't support for the SAP ECC (SAP R/3) connection for the Power BI.

RE: SAP ECC

Agreed - as an SAP user, having a direct connection would be extremely helpful.

RE: SAP ECC

The interest of Power BI is to avoid creation of BW system for small/medium enterprises like us.
We have Power BI for others databases, but we want to connect it to our SAP ECC.
Such connector would be appreciate.

RE: SAP ECC

A SAP ECC (Application Layer) connector is key for our needs as well. Currently we are using Galvanize (formerly ACL) to extract SAP table data and are exploring other options. The lack of this connector basically removes it for our list.

RE: SAP ECC

A great limitation of Power BI currently hindering adoption.
We have several cases of functional groups in the business wanting to access SAP ECC via PowerBI but can't...Please consider developing
