RE: Ragged or Parent Child Hierarchy Visuals
Wild that this request is almost at 800 votes and is from 8 years ago and still not addressed in non-third party apps. This is such a need for the matrix visuals.
RE: Ragged or Parent Child Hierarchy Visuals
Still surprises me that this issue is not addressed. Does not seem to be in their roadmap but it is a highly needed fix. Slicers made out of 40+ levels of which 30 are blank would highly benefit from it.
RE: Ragged or Parent Child Hierarchy Visuals
The fact that this has not already been adressed doesn't make sense! This is one of the "small" things that makes getting endorsement of the product a challenge within organizations. Please do something regarding this! We should not have to rely on third parties to provide a solution for this, nor should we get into DAX wizardery patterns in order to get an appropriate rendering in the visuals.
RE: Ragged or Parent Child Hierarchy Visuals
A beneficial element of hierarchies is that not all levels require a value, which makes them applicable to so many things we analyze. To not address the blanks, defeats the purpose. Thanks
RE: Ragged or Parent Child Hierarchy Visuals
Oracle BI had a level-based, ragged, and skip-level hierarchy since version 11g (August 2010). So if Microsoft wants still has the pretension to be the best BI analytics tool in the world those basic features should be supported ASAP.
RE: Ragged or Parent Child Hierarchy Visuals
Would really like support for ragged hierarchies available.
RE: Ragged or Parent Child Hierarchy Visuals
Bump
RE: Ragged or Parent Child Hierarchy Visuals
This is possible using SSAS and is a necessary feature. Hopefully this is something that can get implemented by Microsoft (or Tabular Editor, if MS isn't going to build it out).
RE: Ragged or Parent Child Hierarchy Visuals
It is a vitally important feature. Custom Hierarchy Slicer has a huge performance issue.
When it will be added?
RE: Ragged or Parent Child Hierarchy Visuals
Ragged hierarchy visuals would be a great extension and would open up tons of new use cases for Power BI. Please realize that feature!
