Vote on this idea if you want expand/collapse on column headers in the matrix similar to what was shipped for row headers in November (https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-november-2018-feature-summary/#expandCollapse).

10/20/2022 - Just an update, this is an extremely expensive item, which is why it has not been picked up yet. I promise we will revisit this after we ship visual calculations

It would be also nice to add this function to measures as columns, so that we can collapse measures that are not that important, but will be still available if needed for interpretation of data.

Really love a similar feature in Excel. I have a very wide matrix visual in PBI and it'd be nice to collapse groups of them and let the user choose their own destiny so to speak.Wonder if this could be done using calculation groups or something... But would be nice to have feature built in directly in visual.

This is a standard feature with Qlik... has been for several years... can you please add this for Power BI?

Please implement this functionality. I am working on migrating some excel reports to PBI. As users have this feature in excel, they need to see it in PBI also.

just a meta comment. it is extremely deflating having the "top idea" be an idea submitted almost four years ago with a bunch of comments and still "under review"maybe highlight some successes on the front page? unless you're going for the "don't even try"

Try out the expand/collapse hierarchy option in Inforiver for Microsoft Power BI!Some other useful features that are available - Group column headers, Support for ragged hierarchy (especially useful for financial reporting).
