Enabling customized calculations at the query level for subtotals and grand totals would offer greater flexibility in reporting and preserve performance. Efficient organization of control settings to modify the style of these totals separately will empower report creators to achieve their desired appearance, while addressing their need for more control and customization in reporting.

RE: Epic idea: Custom totals for tabular visuals
Definitely need this option when sharing our Overall KPI metric!

Hiya are there any news on this ? Thanks
RE: Epic idea: Custom totals for tabular visuals
A must!
RE: Epic idea: Custom totals for tabular visuals
I was asked in an interview what I thought Power BI was lacking, this is a great example of the type of basic formatting controls we need. Great product, but sometimes leaves you scratching your head. Please implement as soon as possible.
RE: Epic idea: Custom totals for tabular visuals
Total column is the most critical but it fades into the background when other columns include conditional formatting and total doesn't. Goes completely against the purpose of visualizations.
RE: Epic idea: Custom totals for tabular visuals
Yes please - Power BI does so many other amazing things, but something like this is missing? :(
RE: Epic idea: Custom totals for tabular visuals
Yes please! Bit of an oversight not to include originally... looking forward to seeing it soon - hopefully!
RE: Epic idea: Custom totals for tabular visuals
I agree with Anonymous. I think it's even harder to program not to have conditional formatting on the totals...
RE: Epic idea: Custom totals for tabular visuals
It is inconsistent to have conditional formatting on the data rows but not on the totals rows and is likely to cause confusion.
RE: Epic idea: Custom totals for tabular visuals
I don't understand why this is a difficult feature to add. You already have an option to apply formatting to labels on subtotals. Why not just add an option to apply conditional formatting to subtotals too? Right now i'm showing negative numbers in red but the subtotals that are also negative are showing in black. Totally misleading and takes away from the visual purpose of the report.
