Imagine a world where report creators can automatically apply slicer and filter selections based on specific logic, revolutionizing data analysis and user experience. This innovative approach eliminates any need for complex workarounds, optimizes slicer functionality, and paves the way for more efficient and effective data reporting.

This feature it's basic, when you are Analyzing metrics in daily basis, in mothly basis etc...

It's also very important when you work with large sets of data in direct query due to trying to minimize work load to the database

A default setting and a return to default on all option would be fantastic. A key point with reports would be to show the most relevant view first without restricting the data.

Please add feature to default a value for a slicer.Say my slicer should be always default to a north region. so every user see report with data sliced for north region, they can select other regions as per their needs but for every region default should be north region.

Currently there is no option to set the default value in a slicer prompt.
Ex: I want to show the current year/month as a default prompt on my report.

Please add this feature, it is sorely needed to deliver the responsive reports demanded by clients with non-standard fiscal calendars.

It would be a great addition because a dashboard with a boolean page filter like "thisweekYN" or "thisyearYN" cannot also have a filter on screen because they clash.

RE: Epic idea: Apply filter selections automatically

We need this feature bady, you can have filter in the query for today, this year, this month etc but that limits data on the dashboard and doesn't allow users to change filter to last month etc. Deafault date, month, year selection is key. also ability to create filters like today, yesterday, this month etc. Is it possible thru DAX, is there a workaround to do this until the feature is added. Any help is appreciated.

RE: Epic idea: Apply filter selections automatically

I would like to be able to set a default value for the date slicer, for example to have a default value of Today, Yesterday, This Month, This Year etc.
