    PowerBI Enterprise Gateway for Linux

    Since it seems to depend on .net runtime only (at least more or less), why not port the gateway to linux? There are many customers who want to run linux only backends and are scared of having a windows machine running alongside their holy glory mission critical infrastructure...

    We need this solution asap. We also want to deploy this on on-premise Linux Virtual Appliance for data ingestion to cloud as well.

    Does the .NET provided by Microsoft Mono meet the requirements needed by PowerBI ?

    We are an all-linux-container shop, and would love to be able to run this on Linux rather than it being our single only, solitary Windows box just for this.

    I will be very usefull to have this feature. In my opinion installling Power BI gateway on different OS seems to be mandatory.

    This will be very useful if the powerbi gateway supports Linux servers. This will enable more options for the users and customers .
