Imagine a world where report creators can automatically apply slicer and filter selections based on specific logic, revolutionizing data analysis and user experience. This innovative approach eliminates any need for complex workarounds, optimizes slicer functionality, and paves the way for more efficient and effective data reporting.

RE: Epic idea: Apply filter selections automatically
Sticky filter is not the same.
Because thats for the current user. We want to have a slicer to be able to dynamic select current year as default. So each user that opens the report in Power BI service will have last year selected..
RE: Epic idea: Apply filter selections automatically
for a date slicer: allow me to say tomorrow or today +3...
RE: Epic idea: Apply filter selections automatically
I have a hierarchical slicer that represents the company organisation. let's assume that this hierarchy is based on cost centers.
by default, this hierarchical slicer shall select the cost center of the connected user. but for benchmark analysis he ought select another cost center of the company.
Let me know if such expected behavior will be covered by this topic.
RE: Epic idea: Apply filter selections automatically
our report has RLS, so for each user the default value of slicer should change.
Eg : If I have access to region A, B, C.. they want by default 'A' to be selected from dropdown when user opens a report.
If User 2 have access to region D, E, F.. they want default 'D' to be selected from dropdown when user opens the report.
and so on..

It would also be very useful if you could set a date offset.
For example, "-14" days. Then the slicer would always show the current date and 14 days back.

Last response from Microsoft team is in 2018 Feb. is there any update on this.
we have quarterly reports, and refreshing manually on RS to show current/new quarter as default.

My requirement is exactly below:
Please do consider implementing this. I have a single date filter slicer that I need it to default to the last available date. Not today, not yesterday, but the maximum available date on the dataset allowing the user to select other available dates on the report. Irrespective of the dates that I select, save and close my report, I want power BI to default to the latest date when I open the report after days or weeks.

Right now we have to manually update our reports and republish just to get the default filters selected. This is functionality that is built into SSRS parameters that I would love to see added to Power BI slicers in some way (perhaps a measure or function to control the defaults, and allow both a begin/end date selection for dates). A common example is where the user wants to see a default date range selection for a transaction date (ex: beginning date: 3/1/2020, ending date: 3/31/2020) where the beginning date is the first day of the prior month and the ending date is the last day of the prior month. We could use relative date filtering but that isn't as intuitive to the end user, especially when they want to manually type in the begin/end dates if they need something other than the defaults. We'd like to reduce clicks and make this more intuitive, and the current functionality does not meet our end-user need. As such, we have additional manual work.

I NEED THIS !
I have multiple dropdowns that I need to manually change after the first dropdown was changed. Until it's not done, visuals are blanks. I've been looking for a workaround but couldn't find one so far.
Thanks in advance to implement this important missing feature.
