KPI Red/Yellow/Green Indicators were available in Power Pivot. With the new Power BI Desktop this feature is not available anymore. If you import from PP to the Desktop it converts the RYG Indicator Dots to a number. Will the Red/Yellow/Green Indicators be added back to PowerBI Desktop? If so When?

It's very exciting to be able to close this idea! With the July 2019 release of Power BI Desktop you can now create icon sets that show status indicators, in fact a whole range of icons, in your table and matrix visuals. You can read more in Amanda's blog post here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-july-2019-feature-summary/#iconSets For those of you who want to have the KPI definition stored in the model itself, please vote on this idea for us to track interest there: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200/suggestions/38181139 Thanks for engaging with the ideas forum and helping us build the product you need!

The KPI needs to have the ability to show Red/Green values just based on whether the metric displayed is positive or negative. I.e. make the need for a goal/trend optional. We've done the calculations in the back end for whether the varance is +/- but cannot display it properly wit hthe KPI and there's no other options to display one large number with conditional formatting.

Re: "Power KPI" visual as a potential replacement: https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/product/power-bi-visuals/WA104381083
Because it seems I cannot add feedback there, will share it here.

"Power KPI" is a good start.
Still, it does need improvement. Especially, managing KPI Thresholds.

It is true that the current version (1.2.1.0) allows quite capable control over KPI Thresholds.

However, it is rather cumbersome and inflexible as it requires creating dedicated Variance and KPI Index measures for each KPI measure you need to use and essentially hard-code the threshold percentages (esp. from end user perspective).

Since there can easily be dozens and even hundreds of KPIs required within the enterprise, it would be very helpful if there would be more automated control over KPI thresholds, their percentages and interpretation (higher is better, lower is better, closer is better).

Like in this custom visual: https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/product/power-bi-visuals/WA104380832?tab=Overview
See explanations in
Unfortunately, that one does not look too great visually, to be honest, and cannot be adjusted to the similar necessary degree as this "Power KPI".
