At the moment to embed reports in a intranet webpage we only have the option to put ?rs:Embed=True at the end of the url.
I have read (on this website) that there are plans to extend this so parameters could also be passed in the url, in a similar way that the current SSRS works.
Could we also have the Power BI JavaScript API enabled for Power BI Report Server, in a similar way to the Azure service has ?

RE: Power BI JavaScript API support for Report Server
As part of our company's business offerings, we need to : Switch to a set page of the reportApply saved bookmarks and overall state to a reportGet layout information of the reportModify the appearance of a report (hide visuals, modify position of visuals)In order to do so, we've relied on the embed API that has worked fine for us with the regular version of Power BI. However since that API is not available for the Report Server offer we're limited to the iframe which does not give us these features. Are there any news whether a Report Server embed API would be feasible ? We get a lot of traction from our clients to be compatible with the report server.
RE: Power BI JavaScript API support for Report Server
Limiting all the flexibility and features of JavaScript API to only cloud-based Power BI service is incredibly frustrating. The service is currently not an option for our team, but the inability to have any control over embedding our reports is extremely frustrating!
The embed URL doesn't even accept basic parameters to configure the layout (would love to eliminate report tabs, adjust the filter pane, etc)
RE: Power BI JavaScript API support for Report Server
We need either Javascript support or support for Hyperlinks not beginning with "https://" (i,e. "javascript:xxxx")
RE: Power BI JavaScript API support for Report Server
JavaScript API would be very useful to integrate better with iFrame.

'+1
I'd like to implement an Add Comments feature with an embedded PBI report.
The JavaScript API for PBIRS would allow me to know how the user has interacted with the report.
RE: Power BI JavaScript API support for Report Server
This is super high on my list of wants . . . the on-prem version of PowerBI feels kinda hamstrung without this.
RE: Power BI JavaScript API support for Report Server
We need this too
RE: Power BI JavaScript API support for Report Server
Would be very useful with on-premise Power BI report server - assuming equivalent javascript api to cloud implemented
