RE: Ability to run stored procedure using DirectQuery
Large companies often have many datasets in direct query due to the need to always have up-to-date data for decision making. In some cases, stored procedures can be an important resource to improve query performance.

I am having the same issue. Come on Microsoft, get this fixed already.

100% needed. When data sets are huge, a stored procedure to capture just the info needed is an absolute must.In my opinion this is one of the most important features we need and I don't even understand why Microsoft considers this an afterthought.

Over 6 years, any hope on this functionality?

Why is this so hard, Microsoft? We need this! Also, no comments from the Power BI team tells you something about how the product roadmap is being managed. Sheesh!!

Also CTE.

This should include using temp tables. If I query something in SSMS and it returns data, it should return data in PowerBI as well.
